How to Join
Interested parties who are engaged full time as designers and/or design educators are welcome to join the Association for one of the following classes of membership:
- Fellow
- Full
- Associate
- Affiliate
- Student
- Corporate
In one or more of the following design categories:
- Exhibition
- Fashion and Textiles
- Graphics
- Interiors
- Jewellery
- Packaging
- Product
- Advertisting
- Illustration
- Industrial
- Furniture
- Architecture
- Design Education
- Digital Imaging
- Others (any other design disciplines)
Please study the following information for the requirements and procedures of the respective classes of memberships and design categories. For the application of full membership, you will be notified of a date for interview* upon receipt of your Application Form. The full membership assessment interview of 2009 is held quarterly on: 28 Feb 2009 and 16 or 23 May and 22 or 29 Aug and 12 or 19 Dec.
Please note that starting from 22 January 2008, an addition HK$800 registration fee will apply on the first time application of Full and Corporate Membership. The fee includes a free copy of HKDA membership certificate and listing on the HKDA website.
(*NB: interview may be exempted for those with sponsorship and nomination by three Fellow or Full Members of at least seven years’ standing, accompanied by a recommendation letter by one of the nominee members)
